TAE40110 to TAE40116 Upgrade program The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has been superseded by TAE40116. Whilst the two qualifications are not equivalent, many students will already have one or both of the required core units for the new TAE40116. In these cases, students will receive a credit transfer for TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools and/or TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills as part of the upgrade process. If students hold both core units, they will only have to provide the additional evidence required for TAEASS401 and TAEASS403 and meet the new entry requirements. Otherwise, they will also have to complete the relevant gap training. This upgrade pathway is only suitable for those who have previously obtained the TAE40110 qualification. If the student did not complete the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, please contact MRWED on 1800 287 246 to discuss other RPL options. It should be noted that the upgrade pricing will vary based on how much gap training is required and what mode of study is selected to complete it. In July 2017, Skills Ministers agreed to update the training and assessment credential requirements in line with the changes to the TAE Training Package, to ensure the VET workforce has appropriate skills in designing and developing assessment tools and identifying and evaluating LLN requirements. This means that trainers and assessors who hold TAE40110 need only obtain the two new core units of TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools and TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills (or equivalent) to meet the requirements. The changes are now reflected in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015. Much appreciated. Cheers Hear from our Students I had the pleasure of attending the online zoom sessions with Damian and Dianne and they worked as a team, kept the energy of the group up and presented the information in a clear and engaging way. I also appreciated in a more general way all the trainers who provided feedback in a timely manner. Frequently Asked Questions My TAE40110 transcript included TAEASS502A and TAELLN401A, so do I need to study TAEASS502 and TAELLN411? No study is required to obtain the updated units. TAEASS502A and TAEASS502B are both equivalent to TAEASS502, so a Credit Transfer can be awarded for either of these units. TAELLN401A is equivalent to TAELLN411, so a Credit Transfer can be awarded. Students enrolled with MRWED are provided complimentary Credit Transfers without any extra fee. I previously achieved TAE40110 and I have completed TAEASS502 and TAELLN411, so am I entitled to be awarded TAE40116? Not yet. Two of the TAE40110 Units are non-equivalent to the current core units that have superseded them. To obtain TAEASS401 and TAEASS403 additional assessments need to be completed to satisfy evidence gaps. MRWED’s eRPL Upgrade to TAE40116 course specifically addresses these gaps. My skills might be a little rusty, so does MRWED provide training for the gap evidence to be provided to upgrade to TAE40116? MRWED’s eRPL Upgrade to TAE40116 course includes access to optional online training content at no extra cost if help is required to provide the gap evidence to achieve the two non-equivalent units of TAEASS401 and TAEASS403.
