MRWED Training and Assessment is committed to supporting all our students in successfully completing their selected course of study. However, prior to enrolment, we have a responsibility under Outcome Standard 2.2 of the Revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025 to review the existing skills and competencies of prospective students, including their language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and digital literacy. This will allow us to provide appropriate advice about whether the training product selected (e.g. unit of competency, skill set or qualification) and mode of delivery (e.g. face-to-face, online or blended study) is suitable for them. National research consistently indicates that many students will require some level of Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) support. Rather than creating a barrier of entry into our programs, our desire is to identify how we can provide suitable support and guidance to reduce adverse impacts and improve our students’ chance of success. What types of LLND skills are needed to undertake the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment? During the course of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, students will: use digital literacy skills to navigate our Learning Management (aNewSpring), download and upload templates, create and edit documents, access online training resources, and review and respond to emails. use reading skills to review units of competency, refer to session plans and assessment tools, interpret workplace policies and procedures and understand written feedback provided by their trainers and assessors. use writing skills to prepare session plans, record assessment results, draft reports, complete checklists and undertake self-reflections. use oral communication skills to facilitate training, give instructions, provide verbal feedback, conduct group discussions and engage in conversations with a variety of stakeholders. use numeracy skills to interpret training-related data, review VET industry statistics, calculate timeframes for training sessions and assessment activities, and estimate resource quantities. How can prospective students provide evidence of their existing LLND skills? There are a number of ways that a prospective student can demonstrate that they hold an appropriate level of LLN proficiency and digital literacy for the proposed training. Your first step is to select one of the following options: 1. Completing a pre-enrolment LLND assessment. The results of this test will help us to ascertain your current LLND Skills. Click HerE 2. Providing evidence of a formerly completed LLND assessment. Completed an LLND assessment with another RTO or organisation? Please upload them here. Click Here 3.
