JUNE 19 202 – Update – For more recent information please see this article here

Last week I shared what MRWED was doing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The situation is clearly changing rapidly, with more than 400 confirmed cases in Australia, a significant increase in the last 7 days. State and federal governments have introduced various new measures designed to slow the curve of the COVID-19 outbreak. We have experienced the cancellation of music, sporting and cultural events and are starting to see the closure of schools, either voluntarily as a social distancing measure or as required due to direct or indirect exposure to Coronavirus.

The health and safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. As such, MRWED will cancel all work-related travel for staff and suspend all face to face training events scheduled from March 23rd, 2020, for a period of 4 weeks. We will continue to monitor the advice from government and health officials and will provide further updates when required.

Our team are fully remote capable and will continue to support our students online, by phone and via email. Our assessors will be busily working through any submissions received in this period and we will extend our capacity for live online training with scheduled webinar sessions using the Zoom platform, starting next week. For students who have sessions booked in the next month, we will contact you directly to discuss your options, such as rescheduling your training, moving to an online study option or participating in live Zoom events.

Whilst any cancellation is disappointing, we believe we are acting in the best interests of our students, staff and the community at large. We appreciate your understanding at this time and if you have any further questions please feel free to contact us on 1800 287 246 or contactus@mrwed.edu.au. We are doing all we can to minimise the impact on your study and look forward to working with you to create some innovative solutions and meaningful outcomes.
