We are thrilled to announce that the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has now been added to our scope of registration. Since version 5 of the TAE Training package was endorsed by Skills Ministers on the 18th of November 2022, there has been some uncertainty about how and when the new qualifications would be added to scope. Today, some of that uncertainty was removed, with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) joining Western Australia’s Training Accreditation Council (TAC) in automatically adding the TAE40122 to the scope of registration for all ASQA-registered providers currently offering TAE40116.

This comes a week after the National VET Regulator approved an extended transition period for the following qualifications:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
  • TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development.

Whilst the transition period for superseded qualifications is typically 12 months, the additional duration will give providers sufficient time to develop and validate their new programs and offers existing TAE students adequate time to successfully complete their courses. It should be noted that ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in the standards, where there would be a genuine disadvantage to a cohort of students if an extension was not approved. MRWED is currently finalising a new suite of TAE programs that include self-paced online options, face-to-face classroom-based experiences, facilitator-led, online learning via zoom, and recognition of prior learning pathways. We look forward to sharing further details about these programs in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you would like to be amongst the first to undertake a new TAE qualification with MRWED, please register your interest below.
