Jason Ash shared his thoughts on quality e-learning next Monday, as a panelist on ASQA’s webinar – “Strategic review into building online learning capability in the VET sector”. This Ask ASQA webinar was part of a series of engagements with the sector contributing to ASQA’s strategic review of online learning. This strategic review is designed to respond to challenges and information needs identified by providers and other stakeholders, and support providers in understanding and delivering quality online learning. Jason was joined by Rob Crispe, General Manager, Engagement & Education, ASQA, Tim Rawlings, Director and Head of Training Product Development, PWCs Skills for Australia, Andrew Shea, CEO Builders Academy of Australia and Chair, Education Industry Reference Committee, and Judith Keller, Principal Regulatory Officer, ASQA. The panel addressed a range of issues including:

  • COVID-19 related disruptions in Australia’s VET and international education sectors 
  • The shift to online delivery to continue training while keeping staff and students safe
  • Response to the challenges to support providers in shifting to distance learning and online deliver
  • Key challenges providers have identified in developing online learning and assessment via distant learning.
